WHAT A CONTRAST FOR TWO COUNTRIES THAT WERE BASICALLY AT THE SAME POINT IN THE 1970’S!

We must understand the left turn that Jamaica took, so that future generations get off that route and never take it again. We must also understand the right turn Singapore took as a guide in helping us to customize our own route to economic success.

Are Jamaicans really helpless and are doomed to remain hapless victims of high energy costs, being slowly boiled to death? That depends on us, each and every one of us. I believe that we are a set of people that when the going gets tough the tough gets going.

High oil prices translate to high gas prices. Oil and its main product petroleum are sown into the very fiber of every modern civilization, everything one way or another is connected to something operated by oil. So in essence, when oil goes up, everything goes up.

The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica has been a profit juggernaut. Some, however, take their perennial success for granted saying it’s just sheer luck aided by the Jamaican Financial Crisis of the mid-1990s which left them virtually unscathed. It’s time to put the argument to rest!
